Israel to Call-up 280,000 Reserve Troops; Growing Signs of War with Iran

Reports say that there are signs Israel is preparing to attack Iran.  Today, it was announced the government will call-up 280,000 Reserve IDF Troops.

Earlier today Flight safety NOTICE TO AIRMEN (NOTAMs) indicated a sudden and complete shutdown of strategic radar systems in Shiraz. Military observers describe the disruption as the first electronic shot, designed to create a temporary gap in Iran’s integrated air defense network rather than a technical malfunction.

I am also told "Same exact thing happened in Isfahan today."  I am endeavoring to confirm this.

If this turns out to be true, then these crippling of radar installations is -- in and of themselves -- an "attack" upon Iran, for which they can launch against Israel.

For What It's Worth (FWIW) Several airlines (Air France, British Airways, and Dutch KLM) have suddenly canceled their flights to multiple areas in the Middle East. Apparently they believe -- or have been warned -- something is brewing behind the scenes.

Theory/analysis of the US build-up in Iran:

- Strike likely any time from tomorrow onwards.

- Probably on a weekend as any other time would have a major impact on markets.

- US CENTCOM Commander will be meeting with the Israelis in the next 12hrs (UPDATE: CENTCOM commander, Admiral Brad Cooper, has landed in Israel AS OF ABOUT 4:00 PM EST) MORE

The Glorious Ministry Of The Spirit

 “How shall not the ministration of the Spirit be rather glorious?  For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory” (2 Cor. 3:8-9).

    Let me exhort all the hearers of the Gospel to pray earnestly to God for the ministry of the Spirit to them, as it hath been to our ancestors in this land in former days, and as it is this day in other countries.  Let us cry with the church, “Renew our days as of old” (Lam. 5:21).  And let us with David, “See Thy power and Thy glory…in the sanctuary” (Psa. 63:2), as in former times.  And with Isaiah, “Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the Lord; awake, as in the ancient days, in the generations of old” (Isa. 51:9).  Let us plead with the church, “We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work Thou didst in their days, in the times of old.  ...Awake, why sleepest Thou, O Lord?...  Arise for our help, and redeem us for Thy mercies’ sake” (Psa. 44:1, 23, 26).

    It would be as wind to the sails, oil to the wheels, and make souls to run the ways of God’s commands without fainting or wearying.  It would loose our bonds, enlarge our hearts, and give freedom from Satan’s temptations, and strong lusts.  It would revive drooping souls, turn their water into wine, their sorrow into joy, their fears into holy confidence, their doubts into Godly assurance, their complaints into praises, and make them to sing in the ways of the Lord.  It would satisfy their souls, and all their faculties, as with marrow and fatness, bring light to the mind, freedom to the will, strength to the memory, peace to the conscience, and life to all graces.  Yea, it would make the soul to grow in grace and fast ripen for heaven.  It would make professors of religion grow more sincere in duties, more fervent in prayer, more attentive in hearing, more frequent in meditation, more practical in knowledge, more edifying in converse, more humble for defects, and more thankful for mercies.

    A day of the ministry of the Spirit would bring many rare and rich blessings along with it, such as discoveries of the Redeemer’s glory, convictions of the evil and vileness of sin, many crowns of victory, and triumph to Christ, great additions to His friends and followers.  Then gospel light would shine clear, saving knowledge increase, ignorance and error vanish, riches of free grace would be displayed, and Satan be bound up.  Then ministers and ordinances would be lively, secure sinners would be awakened, dead souls would live, hard hearts would be melted, strong lusts subdued, and many sons and daughters born to God.  Such a day would heal divisions, cement breaches, make us all of one heart and mind, and bring down heaven to earth.  Prayer and praise, spiritual converse, talking of Christ and redeeming love, would be our chiefest delight.  Oh, then, pray for such a time!

The Mantle Of God – The Spirit And Power

    “...And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me.  And he [Elijah] said, Thou hast asked a hard thing...” (2 Kgs. 2:9-10).

    It was a hard thing; it was an exceedingly difficult thing.  In fact, Elisha was asking for a humanly impossible thing, a supernatural thing.  Yet there was no consciousness of presumption on the part of Elisha as he voiced the request.  His prayer was born of desperation and terrible need, for this hard thing was a necessary thing.

    Out beyond was a nation sunk in the low levels of idolatry and moral degradation, abandoned to the worship of lust and licentiousness, fallen from the high heritage of their fathers into the degenerate perversion of self-indulgence.  No human argument, however logical, could convince their sin-dulled minds.  No human tongue, however eloquent, could persuade their stubborn wills.  No human power, no energy of organization or program of enlightenment could blast their granite hearts.

    The young prophet, confronted by the abysmal depths of sin and the grip of ingrained iniquity holding sway over the nation, knew that his own efforts to call them to God and righteousness would be like the voice of a child in a roaring hurricane – the hammering of baby fists upon stone battlements.  Certainly he asked for a difficult thing!

Full And Overflowing

   “...He who believes in Me shall never thirst” (John 6:35).  “He who believes in Me...out of his heart will flow rivers of living water” (7:38).

    Can the full blessing of Pentecost be still further increased?  Can anything that is full become still fuller?  Yes: undoubtedly.  It can become so full that it always overflows.  This is especially the characteristic and law of the blessing of Pentecost.

    The words of our blessed Lord Jesus above quoted, point us to a double blessing.  First, Jesus says that he who believes in Him shall never thirst.  He shall always have life in himself – that is to say, the satisfaction of all his needs.  Then He speaks of something that is grander and more glorious.  He that believeth in Him, out of his heart shall flow rivers of living water to quench the thirst of others.  It is the distinction between full and overflowing.

    A vessel may be full and yet have nothing over for others.  When it continues full, and yet has something over for others, there must be in it an over­brimming, ever-flowing supply.  This is what our Lord promises to His believing disciples.  At the outset, faith in Him gives them the blessing that they shall never thirst.  But as they advance and become stronger in faith, it makes them a fountain of water out of which streams flow to others.  The Spirit who at first only fills us will overflow out of us to souls around us.  Continue Reading

EU to Hand the US Access to Europeans’ Biometrics

EU countries are preparing to allow the United States access to national biometric databases holding sensitive personal data, such as fingerprints and facial scans. This is in exchange for letting EU citizens keep their visa-free travel to the US, according to Euractiv.

Washington first demanded access back in 2022. At that time, it was assumed that citizens of EU countries, except Romania, Bulgaria and Cyprus, would be able to travel to the US without a visa.

The US calls the plan “Enhanced Border Security Partnerships” (“EBSP”), and the European Commission is set to lead the negotiations for a framework agreement with the US this year. The planned agreement specifies the types of databases and categories of data to which the US would eventually have access. According to the Commission’s document, the agreement may cover a citizen’s origin, political views, religious or philosophical beliefs and genetic or biometric information. The document also states that such data should only be transferred in “strictly necessary and proportionate cases” in order to prevent crime or terrorism. Appropriate safeguards must be applied, in particular restrictions on the length of time for which the data can be stored.

Once the framework agreement has been concluded, EU countries will enter into direct negotiations with the Trump administration. More

The Spirit’s Power For Service

In the seventh chapter of John you will find that it says of him that receives the Spirit through trusting in the Lord Jesus, “…out of [him] shall flow rivers of living water” (v. 38).

    There are two ways of digging a well.  I remember as a boy on a farm in New England, there was a well with an old wooden pump.  I used to have to pump the water from that well on washday and to water the cattle.  Many a time I had to pump and pump and pump until my arm got tired.  But they have a better way now.  They don’t dig down a few feet and brick up the hole and put the pump in, but they go down through the clay and the sand and the rock and on down until they strike what they call a lower stream.  Then it becomes an artesian well which needs no labor, as the water rises spontaneously from the depths beneath.

    I think God wants all His children to be a sort of artesian well, not to keep pumping but to flow right out.  Haven’t you seen ministers in the pulpit just pumping, and pumping and pumping?  I have many a time, and I have had to do it too.  I know how it is.  The ministers stand in the pulpit and talk and talk and talk, and the people go to sleep and they can’t arouse them.  What is the trouble?  The living water is not there.  They are pumping when there is no water in the well.  You cannot get water out of a dry well.  You have to get something in the well, or you can’t get anything out. 

    When the Spirit of God is resting upon us for service, we are anointed.  Then we can do great things.  “I will pour water upon him that is thirsty,” says God (Isa. 44:3).  Oh, blessed thought!  “...They which do hunger and thirst after righteousness…shall be filled” (Matt. 5:6) More.
