WILL SAUDI ARABIA TAKE CONTROL OF THE TEMPLE MOUNT FROM JORDAN?

The Kingdom of Jordan has, for decades, had the oversight of the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. 

In 1967, in what became known as the "6 day war", Israel defeated Egypt, Jordan and Syria. Within just 6 days, Israel had conquered these attacking armies who were bent on pushing every Israeli into the Mediterranean sea.  

God had other plans! 

Israel not only conquered the land east of the Jordan, now known as the West Bank (a move that is legal according to international law) but for the first time in almost 2,000 years the whole of Jerusalem, including the Temple Mount, came under Israeli rule (again something quite legal according to international law).

Basically, if your nation is attacked and in the course of the war you happen to occupy the opposing nation's land, the victors are under no obligation whatever to hand the land back to their enemies.  

However, in an act of peace, much to the anger and dismay of many Israelis and Christians, Israel handed the Temple Mount, the holiest site in Judaism back to the Muslims, under the oversight of the Kingdom of Jordan. And that position has remained in force for 56 years, and has been a thorn, a bone of contention between Israel and her neighbours ever since.

Now come up to date...in 2020, President Donald Trump, did the seemingly impossible. He brokered the Abraham accords between Israel, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Sudan and Morocco.

 Egypt had already made peace with Israel back in 1979. In 1994, Jordan was the last, so far to make peace with the Israelis but still kept the oversight of the Temple Mount. 

In 2020, before he lost the Israeli election in 2021, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu flew secretly to Saudi Arabia and spent 4 hours with the Crown Prince Mohamed bin Salman. Of course, the press got a hold of the story later. Here

Now the Biden administration is trying its level best to bring the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia into the Abraham Accords fold. Here

As a sign of the warming relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia, I August 2022 the first comercial flight flew over Saudi Arabia, Here and in Augst 2022, Israeli airline Arkia became the first to fly commercial a passenger plane over Saudi airspace. Here

 Islam's 2 holiest sites, Mecca and Medina are in Saudi Arabia. The third most holy site for Muslims is the Temple Mount, Jerusalem. And it has been voiced in certain halls of power, that Saudi Arabia would like to have the oversight of the Temple Mount as well. Just 2 days ago, Israeli newspaper Haaretz bore the headline,

"Temple Mount/Al-Aqsa Is Waiting for Saudi Arabia’s Mohammed Bin Salman"Here

Many are now asking the question, "If Saudi Arabia and Israel make peace, will part of that process eventually see the building of Israel's long awaited Third Temple?"

And Christians who watch end Times prophecy unfold are also asking, "If that is so, how long will it be before the Antichrist, the final world ruler steps onto the world stage?"
